Hello, my lovelies, the weekend is finally here and it’s time to relax. How are you doing? What are your plans for the days off?
Today I am going to share with you, some great and budget-friendly makeup products. We have some NYX, Maybelline and more πŸ˜‰ Just a short explanation before we jump into the post – these are affordable beauty products suitable mostly for combination to oily skin and with you am I sharing entirely my personal opinion and experience. So with this out of the way – let’s jump into today’s post. πŸ™‚

My favourite affordable beauty products
Let’s hit it off with primer:

After applying my daily moisturizer, I give it few minutes to dry and the go it with a primer. My personal favourite primer on the budget-friendly side is from The Ordinary: High-Adherence Silicone Primer. As the name of the products states, it is a silicone based primer. The Ordinary is not exactly a drugstore brand, but it is in the same price range and in Germany, it’s found in Douglas. I like the primer as it smoothes the skin and has a blurring effect on my pores and fine lines. Additionally, it makes my foundation stay longer in places so it’s also a long-lasting primer. Personally, I would recommend it to people with normal to oily skin. I am a combo type, but I don’t feel that it dries out my skin. It has light consistency and leaves the skin with a bit of a sticky feeling, but not in an unpleasant way.

Continuing with the foundation:

One of the go-to drugstore foundations is the Maybelline Fit me Matte & Poreless. The foundation has a great shade range, so everyone can find their best suiting colour. It is a longlasting one, matte foundation. It provides with medium coverage, but it’s also buildable – so any imperfections can be covered. I like to work it out in the skin with a beauty blender, as it gives me the most natural finish, but it also looks great applied with a foundation brush. The product doesn’t give a cakey look.

Conceal and perfect:

The next step in the makeup routine is the application of concealer. The one, which I can’t stop repurchasing is the Maybelline Instant-Anti-Age in colour 01 Light. It provides me with a great coverage of dark circles, it doesn’t crease on me and doesn’t define the fine lines in the under eye area. What I like the most about it, is that the concealer also has a brightening effect and defines smoothly the areas, which I like to highlight. It is a budget-friendly product and you don’t need much to achieve a great result. Also, I use it as an eyeshadow base.

Setting all in place:

To set my concealer and entire face, I use the Essence all about matte translucent powder. Even though it is a translucent powder, it does leave a bit of a white sheen to the face, so be careful with the application. It provides a longlasting result, without a cakey face. Throughout the days, I do touch ups, but this is an inevitable step for me, no matter which powder I use.

Let’s put some colour back and define those cheekbones:

To add up some colour on my face after the base application, I like to use the NYX Highlight and Contour Palette. This palette is a holy grail for me, with the eight shades inside, it is suitable for your skin through any season. There are two highlighters, two setting powder, two bronzer colours and two contour shades. I have already hit the pan of the contour shade, that’s how much I love this multi-functional face palette from NYX.

Let’s bring back the healthy glow:

This is a step, which for many years I have personally neglected, as “blush wasn’t my thing” or at least I thought. πŸ˜€ Now I prefer to go with coral shades and give some healthy look to the evened skin. This blush from Essence is a great example of a great colour. The blush is pigmented, so don’t forget to get a bit off the extra powder on the brush. One trick if you go overboard (I tend to do that sometimes): get your powder brush and blend smoothly over the blush.

Affordable beauty products: eyeshadow & highlighter palette in one:

BH Cosmetics can be found in DM in Germany for a few months, therefore I have to mention this amazing palette with eyeshadows and two highlighters, created in collaboration with the amazing and super talented Mrs Bella. The colours are easy to blend, very pigmented and the colour scheme – ah amazing! Various looks can be created within.

Setting it all in place:

As I mentioned before, I have a combination skin to oily in summer. Therefore, a setting spray is a must-have for me. The one, which gives me a great matte finish and good hold throughout the day is the Maybelline 24h Setting spray. I like to use it on very warm days when my skin needs this extra mattifying effect.

Eyebrows perfector:

The NYX eyebrow pencil is one of my best affordable beauty products. It has a goo shades range, a nice cool toned colour (specifically the Ash Brown) and is so creamy and easy to apply. Additionally, it has a spooly on one of the ends, which is plus point from my side.

Lenght & volume – all in one mascara:

I have mentioned in another blog post how in love I am with the Loreal Paradise Extatic Mascara, so I will just summarize shortly here. An amazing affordable mascara with long wear and no smudge effect. It is carbon black, creates length and volume.

Last, but not least: the lip combo

Finishing up the look with a lip liner and a lipstick, I can’t forget to mention how affordable and buttery are the Manhattan lip liners. Offered on 8 shades (I believe), they are so easy to apply and stay on the lips forever. For lipstick, I am picking up the NYX soft matte lip creams, which don’t dry out the lips but still have a nice matte finish. Here I have the colour Stockholm and is in my eyes the perfect nude shades for girls with light skin.

Those are my the best affordable beauty products, which I use from the drugstore and I swear by. Share with me what are your holy grail makeup products from the drugstore and have you used some of my favourites? Hopefully, the post was interesting and motivated you to test out some new drugstore item and who knows maybe you will discover some new essentials for your makeup collection. πŸ˜‰

I wish you an amazing weekend, enjoy the weather outside and don’t forget: You are amazing!

Forever yours,
A
