Hello, my lovelies,
for quite a while there were no new posts on my blog, but I am officially back. 🙂 Today’s topic would be my current skincare routine. What is my skin type, which products I use and how often. To learn more – keep on reading. 😉

What is my skin type?

It took me a very long time to understand the needs of my skin – to save yourself the trouble of guessing, consider a consultation with a dermatologist or any medical person. Also, consultants in the pharmacies can give you some tips about your skin.
Usually, our skin type doesn’t remain the same throughout the year: as the weather gets colder and we spend more type in closed spaces with heating system on, our skin tends to get drier. For me, this isn’t different. I have a combination skin: meaning, it’s tents to get oily in the T-zone and dry in the other parts of the face. On top of that, my skin is sensitive, therefore I am very careful about the products I use.

What does my skincare routine include?

There are various products, which you may include in your routine, but not all of them are obligatory. Few basics are a makeup remover, wash gel or foam and moisturizer. Everything else like scrub, serum, mask, eye cream etc. comes on top.

In my skincare routine, I am currently using a number of products, which you can see on the picture below. But not all of them have a place in my daily routine.

Which products do I use on daily basis?

In the morning, I only use cold water and I apply the daily cream, then I continue with the makeup. In the evening, after I come home, I try to remove the makeup asap. Lately, as a makeup remover, I use the micellar cleansing water from Garnier. This is a two-phase product with for sensitive skin and eyes. It removes even waterproof makeup easily without the nessacity to rib the skin.  What I like about it, is that the product doesn’t leave my skin with a dry or greasy feeling.

Next step of my routine is cleansing. I have finally found the foaming gel that is gentle to my sensitive skin and this is the La Roche Posay Effaclar purifying gel. The cleanser is suitable for oily sensitive skin and doesn’t have in itself any parabens and soap, which can have a negative influence on the skin. It is a great solution for people with acne-prone skin, as I was a few months back. The La Roche Posay skincare can be found in any pharmacy and since recently also in Douglas in Germany.

There is one step, which I am guilty of neglecting for a long time, but in the past months, I have included in my daily skincare routine. I am talking about toner. The one, which I can’t stop using is the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner. It is suitable for all skin types and it is ph-balanced to avoid over-drying of the skin. For me, it is an additional hydration step before the cream.

As a moisturizer, I am using for months one more product from La Roche Posay. The Effaclar Duo cream has been recommended to me by a consultant in a pharmacy and so far this is the second pack, which I am using. What convinced me to buy this product was the fact that it doesn’t clog the pores and influences the acne scarring, which I had. The formula is light, also suitable to be worn before makeup and as a night cream, as it provides my skin with the needed hydration.

Which products do I use on weekly basis?

We all want to take a good care of our skin, therefore some additional steps in the weekly routine are good to be added. Here I am talking about a scrub, a serum and/ or mask.

Yet another step of the routine, which I was neglecting. 😀 Classical me! Anyway, this is the scrub or exfoliant, however, you like to call it, honestly I see no difference, but hey – I am not an expert.  The product, I am using, is again from Kiehl’s and it is the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. It is with Amazonian white clay and has small exfoliating particles inside, which are gentle to the skin. The product is suitable for normal to oily skin type. During the winter months, I use it twice a week for removal of the dead skin cells and dry patches. What I enjoy in the product is that it minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores, which give the look of an evened skin.

Coming to the next step, which is included only twice in my weekly skincare routine and this is the serum. I am currently using the Lancome Advanced Genefique serum, which is a youth activating concentrate. This is a patented formula, which contains Bifidus extract, helps strengthen and protect skin’s moisture barrier. The bottle features an exclusive self-loading dropper for the perfect dosage of serum with every application. This serum is suitable for all skin types, and multiple ethnicities. And it’s never too early to start taking care of the skin. 😉

There was a time when I used a mask on a nearly daily basis in my life, but it came to my attention that over masking is a thing. Therefore, I try to reduce the usage of different masks to twice a week. In most cases, I need purifying and hydrating masks. Some months ago, I discovered the Lancome Energie De Vie clay mask and I am in love. The light consistency and the calming effect, which the mask has on the skin, make me repurchase the product again and again. When we are speaking about hydrating masks, here I trust the Garnier Sheet masks completely.

The last, but not least, should probably be a product, which is better for daily usage, but let’s face it – I forget. 😀 This is the eye cream and currently the one I am using is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye. The cream has a thicker formula and I would recommend to use it only as a night eye cream. I have noticed that the product has a cooling effect and reduces the puffiness in the eye area.

Last, but not least

To have a beautiful and well-treated skin, you should not forget to drink lots of water and get all the needed vitamins. In case you are like me, and you also forget the water part, add a reminder on your phone. 🙂

I hope you found this post interesting and helpful. All the products will be linked below. Now I would be curious to learn, which products you have included in your daily routine. Leave me a comment down below and see you soon, girls!

Forever yours,
A
